Repair Program

We repair the exterior of homes only; we do not work on roofs or any area above one story. Our repair program is meant to help elderly, disabled, and low-income people and families safely get into and out of their homes. This includes installing and repairing ramps, steps, doors, and gutters. Other items will be considered based on your situation.

Program Requirements

 

  1. You must own and occupy a home that is at least 10 years old and could benefit from exterior improvements.

  2. You must live within our designated service area of Lee County

 

  1. You must meet household income guidelines -- no more than 80% of the Area Median Income for your household size.  

 

  1. You must be current on your property taxes

 

  1. You must be willing to partner with Habitat Sanford by providing volunteer hours to assist in completing the work.

 

  1. You must be unable to afford the necessary repairs and unable to complete them otherwise due to age, disability, or circumstance.

 

To be considered for our repair program, please complete the application and return it with all the required documents to Habitat for Humanity of the Sanford Area, NC, PO Box 3821, Sanford, NC 27331, or drop it by our office at 405 Wicker Street. Applications without all the required documents will not be accepted.

 

All information that you provide will be held in strictest confidence. After reviewing your application, you will receive a letter, email, or phone call to discuss the next steps and important information. Please notify us of any changes to your application throughout the process.
